Studio & Operations Manager

Full-timeDublin's NorthsideJoining ahead of opening

+

The person who makes cré run day to day: rostering teachers, managing member relationships, keeping the kilns firing on schedule, and making sure a first-time visitor and a three-year member both feel looked after.

What you'll do

  • Run day-to-day studio operations: bookings, rostering, kiln schedules, inventory
  • Own the member experience, from induction through to renewal
  • Manage the studio's part-time teaching and technical staff
  • Report on studio performance and feed into pricing and programme decisions

What we're looking for

  • Experience running a studio, gym, hospitality space, or similar member-facing operation
  • Comfortable with scheduling software, basic financial tracking, and just generally keeping plates spinning
  • Ceramics experience is a bonus. People skills matter most here

How to apply

Send a CV and a short note on why this role interests you to hello@crecommunitypottery.ie.

Kiln Technician

Part-time · 3 days/weekJoining ahead of opening

+

Keeping the physical studio running: kiln loading and firing, equipment maintenance, and materials management. The quieter, essential job that makes everything else possible.

What you'll do

  • Load, fire and unload bisque and glaze kilns on a weekly schedule
  • Maintain wheels, kilns and studio equipment; troubleshoot faults
  • Run the clay reclaim process (with the pug mill), and oversee the Work-Trade members who help with it as part of their studio-maintenance hours
  • Manage clay and glaze materials stock and reordering

What we're looking for

  • Hands-on experience with electric kilns and studio equipment
  • Reliable, methodical, comfortable working independently
  • Basic electrical/mechanical aptitude helpful

How to apply

Send a CV or a note on your experience to hello@crecommunitypottery.ie.

Ceramics Teacher

Part-time×3 at opening, growing to 4 by Month 7Evenings & weekends

+

Teaching tasters and beginner-to-improver courses (wheel, hand-building, or both) to people who, in a lot of cases, have never touched clay. We're hiring three teachers to open the studio, growing the team to four by Month 7 as the class programme scales.

What you'll do

  • Teach taster sessions and 6-to-8-week courses in small groups
  • Give one-to-one guidance during open-studio hours on a rota basis
  • Help new members feel confident, not judged, in their first weeks

What we're looking for

  • Confident, experienced maker. Wheel, hand-building, or glaze specialism all welcome, and teaching experience is helpful but not essential
  • Patient with total beginners; genuinely enjoys the "first successful pot" moment
  • Available some evenings and/or weekends
  • Garda vetting required for teachers involved in the Young Makers youth course

How to apply

Send a CV or a short intro (and photos of your work, if you have them) to hello@crecommunitypottery.ie.

Studio Intern

Paid · Work placementFlexible hours

+

A paid, hands-on placement for someone studying ceramics, art, or a related field who wants real studio experience alongside our small team. It's a supporting role, shadowing and assisting rather than covering a full staff position.

What you'll do

  • Shadow teachers and studio staff during classes and open-studio hours
  • Help with basic studio tasks under supervision: clay prep, glaze mixing, kiln loading
  • Build a small body of your own work, with access to materials and firing

What we're looking for

  • Currently studying ceramics, art, or a related discipline, or a recent graduate
  • Curious, reliable, happy to muck in

How to apply

Send a CV and a short note on what you're hoping to get from the placement to hello@crecommunitypottery.ie.

That's the whole opening team

cré is staying deliberately lean. The Studio & Operations Manager, Kiln Technician and Ceramics Teachers (plus the founder) are the full Year 1 headcount in the financial model; the Studio Intern is a small, flexible addition on top. Later hires will scale with the class programme and member numbers rather than get added ahead of demand. If you think you'd add something to cré that isn't listed above, get in touch anyway. We're keeping a list for when that changes.
